Community Care Day 2010
September 20, 2010

In partnership with United Way's largest single-day of volunteerism, Community Care Day, more than 100 Limited Brands associates gathered to volunteer during work hours on Sept. 14 at Camp Mary Orton in Worthington, Ohio. Associates spent the day of service making general repairs and building improvement, mulching and landscaping, painting and cleaning. Shelly Lewis, manager of volunteer opportunities at Limited Brands, coordinates the effort for the company. "Limited Brands is honored to be able to participate in the United Way Community Care Day again this year. It is a project that our associates look forward to every year. It's great to be able to volunteer for such a great organization as Camp Mary Orton and give back to the community."
Limited Brands has partnered with United Way for their Community Care Day for over six years, working along side volunteers from several other Central Ohio companies and sending thousands of employees into area neighborhoods and communities to lend a hand and make a difference for this day of service. This year, United Way registered more than 3,000 volunteers to participate in projects across central Ohio.
Camp Mary Orton, part of the Godman Guild, has been serving children and families for over 100 years, providing activities and programs designed to promote economic growth, self-sufficiency, leadership among youth, employment training, nature appreciation and team development.
