Earth Week 2010 proves Limited Brands associates Love Earth Day

April 29, 2010

Earth Week 2010 was Limited Brands’ second annual week of Earth Day-related fun and education. Associates in all our home office locations – from New Mexico to New York to Korea –participated in activities like donating hard-to-recycle items, eating organic and sustainable foods from our cafés, attending an Earth Week class and bringing in papers to be shredded and recycled.

To top it all off, more than 300 associates entered our How I Live Green sweepstakes, and the entries we received were inspiring. Tips and tricks like these make it clear that every thing you do as an individual – and the services Limited Brands provides as a company – really can make a difference. Here are just a few examples:

  • Last year, as part of Earth Week, I made the commitment to stop using plastic silverware. I have stuck to this commitment for a full year and have really noticed how many pieces of plastic silverware I was throwing away in the garbage! I feel like I am having an impact, one spoon at a time.
  • I use recyclable, reusable cups, containers and chopsticks.
  • I try to go vegetarian one day a week.
  • I recycle everything I can, including my empty BBW & VS beauty products :)
  • My family finds ways to recycle boxes, baby food jars or other things into art work we have around the house.

Green by the numbers

Here’s a round up of Earth Week accomplishments in our U.S. home office locations:
